Tony Williams was born in England but was brought up and educated in New Zealand. He returned to England to study at the Birmingham School of Art where he achieved an Honours Diploma in Jewellery, FGA, and a Diploma in Gem Diamonds, graduating in 1972.
Tony worked for a time with some of England's leading jewellers before returning to New Zealand. His studio/workshop, set in the South Island, has an inspirational view. He works in a wide variety of styles in sterling silver, silver, gold and platinum, but his first love is enamelling, an art at which he excels. He creates superb combinations of enamelled gold set with precious gems and has won many major awards for his pieces, both here and abroad.
His work is shown in top jewellery stores and galleries in Australasia and England.
